Now autumn is here and with it comes rain and chilly winds. Finding something to do with an almost 2 year old indoors is not always easy. With several hours to spend after picking up my son at preschool, I decided to take him to IKEA. It is only about a 10 minute drive away from home, just on the outskirts of Malmo centre. As always you can see the building from far away, with its distinct dark blue facade and big yellow letters spelling out the name.
I thought I could do two things at once, get some candles and some indoor games for him and he could run off some energy. Well, it all started so well, but once we had been to the play area for children on the second floor for more than half an hour, I decided it was time to go and get my purchases. This was not particularly liked by my son, who wanted to stay on playing. After somehow luring him down to the next floor, we still had the long walk through all the different areas that never seems to end.
I managed to pick up some candles and a game, but with a stroller in one hand and the little one in the other, they did not seem to go the same way. Realising that standing in a queue would be impossible; I abandoned the idea that I would buy anything this time. On the bright side though, we managed to spend a few hours somewhere else from home at no cost.
