Hello folks, I’m Marian Kamal, a recovering perfectionist from Alexandria, Egypt. The “recovering” part might sound a bit hopeful to all you perfectionists out there, but where would we be without foolish hope? Why foolish you ask; simply because in my case it’s defying fate: “Kamal” is Arabic for “perfection.” I rest my case!

It’s my first time to blog, and I’m very happy to do it. When I was asked to join the team, the first thing that came to my mind is “finally, a way to inflect my wisdom upon the world, muwhahaha!” (in case you haven’t seen any Disney films, that was an evil laugh).

For those of you wondering what is it that I do exactly; I’m a translator and interpreter. For those of you who don’t, just go back and don’t read that last line ;)

I have just turned 30, and that’s the last we speak of my age!

I promise to be honest and open. I promise to post often and to keep swearing to a minimum! And I will try to do the same with exclamation marks; I do tend to over do it a bit!! :D

I tend to over do things sometimes. My sister tells me I tend to cram a million errands in one day. My defense is that there are only so many days while there are sooooo many things to do. However, I’m trying to keep myself in check. With that in mind I will share with you my plan for the day and I will keep you posted of the results:
Take a shower
Wait for the water filter guy, to come fix the water filter
Pick up shoes from shop where they were being resoled
Take telephone to repair guy (first find out where the repair guy actually is)
Go shopping for birthday presents for my brother and my father.
Relax in a café with a nice cup of cappuccino and a good book (ahhhh!)
Buy makeup
Buy spackle and white oil paint to fix bathroom door.
A bit too much?! Well, I’ll keep you posted of the results ;)
